We are delighted to announce educators in most all of our schools have began utilizing classroom websites to keep both students and parents informed of events, happenings and even homework assignments.
Parents can navigate to their child’s classroom website and see what they are working on and view videos of projects that students are engaged in. This presents a wonderful opportunity for parents to become more informed and involved in what their child’s classroom is working on.
All of our schools within the district now manage their own websites for their location so you can get some GREAT information from these sites. This makes it much easier for parents to check on upcoming events, fundraisers, bake sales & field trips. Visit your child’s school website and navigate through it today and check out all that’s going on!
New School Const. Begins
The groundbreaking for our newest elementary school was held on May 3rd 2011. Outfitted with hard hats and kid-sized shovels, students joined Superintendent Barnett, Board of Education members Esther Cain, Patty Hutchinson, and Brian Lindon along with John and Linda Whitt, Representative John Will Stacy, Judge Executive Tim Conley as well as Principal Vickie Oldfield and a host of community members on May 3rd for a ground breaking ceremony at the site of the new elementary school. Lexington architects Murphy Graves will construct the new school on the property generously donated by John and Linda Whitt. The school is slated to be completed in 2012-2013.

Got A Wireless Signal Now? Good...
We are delighted to announce that we now have full wireless access at every single school site we have within the district. Great effort was made to insure that all of our locations had full access to our district’s wireless network and now the task is complete. Students, teachers & presenters can now take advantage of the wireless network to better enable them to use their mobile computing devices.
The wireless network project was initiated and supervised by Jason VanHoose, Morgan County DTC. Mr. VanHoose also overseen the replacement of most all of the district’s networking equipment which was several years out dated and beginning to fail. Already staff and students have noticed the difference in their everyday network experience due to the upgrades.
